Western Digital’s My Passport Essential SE is currently the only portable external hard drive to boast a whopping 1TB of storage space. Despite this, it is one of the smallest hard drives around and it is quite speedy, too.

For the My Passport Essential SE, Western Digital bypassed the standard SATA II circuitry and built a USB connection directly into the 2.5in internal hard drive, making it shorter than other external hard drives. Unfortunately, the company chose to integrate a micro-USB connection instead of the more common mini-USB port found on external hard drives and digital cameras. While the connection is supposed to be more durable, the cable is also harder to replace if lost.

AFTER months of keeping under wraps the inevitable, Intel Corp. has finally announced it will close its Philippine plant—with its 1,800 employees expected to be formally notified within two weeks that they will lose their jobs. I had chatted a filipina blogger before informed me that Intel Corp. in Cavite will be closed and it will be transferred somewhere in Malaysia. She buzzed me with her message if I am connected to Intel Corp. because of my blog name as "intel828c". Actually, intel82c was derived from my favorite Intel chipset and my birthday 828. Nahh! it's only my blog name get connected and not my profession. hehehe Then, she said to me that her husband is presently working at Intel Corp. in Sta. Clara, California as IT Specialist. Today is my day because I have won 6 times and defeated 2 times against with my 3 opponents in 8 different games. A total of 8 games all and all. Ashiqueash and I played a 5 minute bout. I thought I will be defeated on this game since I only have 3 officials left (a horse, queen and king) while my opponent have 4 officials left (2 rooks, queen and king). I said to my self that this game will be over against with my opponent "Ashiqueash". He was so tough and good in all aspects. The defensive and offensive moves was quite impressive. He had 2 minutes and 3 seconds left to finish the game while im terribly running out of time. Maybe, he was too confident to defeat me because I only have 3 seconds left but still manage to defeat him with my horse and queen in two more moves in 3 seconds left. The best move is the presence of mind. I defeated and won the game by checkmating him in 6 milliseconds time remaining.

I would like to share you about the gadgets I have for 3 years now, my Apple iPODs shuffle. I got these two iPODs for free when I worked as a sales/technical support. These iPODs were given to me by my supplier as promotional gifts. Won't you believe me? I got these for free because I sold laptops, desktops, licensed software and thumb drives to one of my regular clients. My iPODs now are still working with boombastic and impressive sounds. I gave the other iPOD to my luckiest and closest friend of mine.

Blackstone Gets Into Clean Tech

Nowadays, there are plenty of products and technologies. Sony evolves into more interesting stuffs from electric rice cooker, first magnetic recorder, first transistor radio, Trinitron colour TV, Walkman personal stereo, Handycam videocamera, Playstation, Blu-ray Disc recorder to Playstation 3.

Furthermore, three (3) years ago my sister bought me a Sony handycam because I love photography. She surprised me with this stuff. I could not believe she had an expensive birthday present for me. I am very blessed having a sister like her whose been working abroad. She can buy precious gifts for her brother. hehehe

On the other hand, I considered my Sony digital handycam as one of the best gadget of Sony products. I’m using this stuff for 3 years and still keep on working. My Sony handycam is my bread and butter. Somehow, it gives me some ways of gaining more friends. For every successful shot comes a humble smile. Although, those videos I made were just part of my hobbies as a novice “videographer”, it keeps on reminding me to become more enthusiastic and progressive. I am learning more with this product, thus, giving me extra miles to pursue my dedication. Nice right? Good job to my Sony handycam.

Moreover, my handycam taught me how to embrace and value the unforgettable moments of my life. I would simply say that Sony technology help change our lives for the better. By the way, the soundtrack I made as background to my entry, entitled "Hands Down" says that Sony is a technology that we should praise for making our lives easier like no other.

Those clips you have seen were taken by me. I am neither a professional photographer nor a video editor. I just love photo editing and doing some motion cuts. Eventually, learning is a power of fulfilling our dreams comes true. Well, the 18th birthday of my friend was taken by my Sony handycam. I captured and edited those happy moments they had on her birthday, yet all of the captured events were all precious. I am glad being part of my friend’s party as a cameraman. hehehe. I made them all happy because of the movie I did for them. Thanks to my Sony handycam. The priceless moments will never be vanished.

Consequently, a friend of mine asked me to record some clips of their friends from New York. I refused his request because I was not ready to take a shot. He said it would be okay, the important is that they will have something to bring and remember when they go back home. Then, I recorded some clips of the boy named Kesnel. As you can see on the video clips, the boy is holding some roosters and taking photos to some pigs. Kesnel, a boy from New York had much fun of those animals he saw and touched. I could not imagine how much he liked animals. Anyway, animals like live pigs and roosters are rare to them. Hence, if I have a chance to be in the US, I would love and appreciate also seeing wild animals in Bronx Zoo, New York such as bears and lions. I rarely see said animals here except if you will pay for an entrance fee in the zoo. New York? Huhh! How I wish I could go there with them, not with the animals. lolz.

Nevertheless, if you want to treasure valuable moments together with your family, do not forget to bring along with your Sony digital camera or a handycam. Otherwise, you will be missing half of your life. My Sony Handycam experience definitely gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First Smallest, Lightest and Slimmest Full HD Camcorder: TG1 Handycam, another amazing gadget which will help me capture more precious moments for my friends, relatives and love ones.

Richard Farina booted up his computer on an American Airlines flight in October from New York to San Francisco. It was one of the first commercial flights to offer wireless Internet service. Within a couple minutes of reaching 10,000 feet, Farina was snooping the airwaves with the ability to see what his fellow passengers were doing without having to leave his cramped middle seat.
Farina isn't a bad guy. He was just doing his job as a so-called white-hat hacker for AirTight Networks, a manufacturer of wireless intrusion protection hardware and software. AirTight's chief executive, David King, sends hackers out for unsolicited security assessments. Earlier this year he dispatched Farina and a few other of his 100-plus employees to collect wireless security data at 20 U.S. airports and a few abroad. They found rampant phony Wi-Fi hot spots created by phishers and, at several large airports, plenty of open or insecure networks run by critical operations such as baggage handling and ticketing. Almost all public networks allowed data such as user names and passwords to pass through the air unencrypted. Only 3% of people used something more secure.

Android's Reboot Problem

Google's Android platform may take things too literally: Users of T-Mobile's new Android-based G1 phone have discovered that if they type the word "reboot" into a text message or email, the phone will take it as a command and automatically reboot.
The problem arose because Android sends all text entered into the device directly to the operating system, with super-user priviliges. That's a major security flaw, and both users and the company are lucky it was discovered before someone could maliciously exploit it. Google is aware of the bug and already pushing out a fix according to CNET's Steven Shankland.
But let this be a reminder to early adopters everywhere. When a company puts out the first product of a new product line, there are always potential hazards. When the new product line is also an entirely new line of business for the company, you really need to be careful.

uLead Studio 8 Vs Sony Vegas Studio 9

Actually I don't have an idea with these stuffs until one day a friend of mine asked a help from me about video editing. What I did, I went to my other friends and bought a software from him. Although, ulead 8 is an old version software. This was my first movie editing software. I learned a little about it and found it interesting. You can visit some of my videos on Youtube. Some were made using MovieMaker and most were from uLead Studio 8. Click these some of my vids, skaterboy, Celine Dion and Bee Gees and more. If you know a liitle about photoshop I would surely say that uLead would be easy for you to learn as long as you have patience and determination. To indulge you more, If you know how to explore the user friendly XP, uLead is a perfect match for you to learn and explore too.

Sony Vegas Studio 9 is the video editing software that I want to learn and explore it more. This software is quite complicated. As what I've said I need more time to learn this stuff. I found this software very interesting. There are lots of plug-ins and usage especially the media effects. Im sure you like to buy this If you want to compile and record the events of your life.

All Saints' Day

All Saints’ Day, festival celebrated on November 1 in the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches, and by the Orthodox churches on the first Sunday after Pentecost, in honor of God and all his saints, known and unknown. It became established as a church festival early in the 7th century when the Pantheon in Rome was consecrated as the Church of the Blessed Virgin and All Martyrs. Pope Gregory IV gave the custom official authorization in 835. November 1 may have been chosen because it was the day of one of the four great festivals of the pagan nations of the north, and it was church policy to supplant pagan with Christian observance.

Tomorrow, Davao City is one of the busiest places to visit because of the annual celebration of All Saints' Day. I would say that All Saints' Day is an exciting but a crowded day to roam around because all people will see and bump each other in one big place, the crowded cemetery.

According to his teacher, my nephew ranked as the number 2 in their class. He never comes late. He was an active student likewise a good listener. You know what, I was so disappointed because almost of his grades are failed. His classmate got a perfect score and ranked as the number 1 student . I believed that my nephew's grades would almost be the same with the first. I am confused of the big differences with their grades. I immediately went to their classroom and talked to his teacher and asked. "Good morning, Sir", Why is it that my nephew ranked as the number 2 in their class and still failed some of his grades?. The teacher simply replied. "Because I have only two students in my class. One is a genius and the other one is a moron". Bwahahaha

Multibillion-dollar experiment to probe nature's mysteries

Deep underground on the border between France and Switzerland, the world's largest particle accelerator complex will explore the world on smaller scales than any human invention has explored before.
The collider's ALICE experiment will look at how the universe formed by analyzing particle collisions.
The Large Hadron Collider will look at how the universe formed by analyzing particle collisions. Some have expressed fears that the project could lead to the Earth's demise -- something scientists say will not happen. Still, skeptics have filed suit to try to stop the project. It even has a rap dedicated to it on YouTube.
Scientists say the collider is finally ready for an attempt to circulate a beam of protons the whole way around the 17-mile tunnel. The test, which takes place Wednesday, is a major step toward seeing if the the immense experiment will provide new information about the way the universe works.
"It's really a generation that we've been looking forward to this moment, and the moments that will come after it in particular," said Bob Cousins, deputy to the scientific leader of the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment, one of six experiments inside the collider complex. "September 10 is a demarcation between finishing the construction and starting to turn it on, but the excitement will only continue to grow."
The collider consists of a particle accelerator buried more than 300 feet near Geneva, Switzerland. About $10 billion have gone into the accelerator's construction, the particle detectors and the computers, said Katie Yurkewicz, spokewoman for CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, which is host to the collider.
In the coming months, the collider is expected to begin smashing particles into each other by sending two beams of protons around the tunnel in opposite directions. It will operate at higher energies and intensities in the next year, and the experiments could generate enough data to make a discovery by 2009, experts say. Testing the unknown
Experts say the collider has the potential to confirm theories about questions that physicists have been working on for decades including the possible existence of extra dimensions. They also hope to find a theoretical particle called the Higgs boson, which has never been detected, but would help explain why matter has mass.
The collider will recreate the conditions of less than a millionth of a second after the Big Bang, when there was a hot "soup" of tiny particles called quarks and gluons, to look at how the universe evolved, said John Harris, U.S. coordinator for ALICE, a detector specialized to analyze that question.
Since this is exploratory science, the collider may uncover surprises that contradict prevailing theories, but which are just as interesting, said Joseph Lykken, theoretical physicist at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
"When Columbus sails west, he thought he was going to find something. He didn't find what he thought he was going to find, but he did find something interesting," said Lykken, who works on the Compact Muon Solenoid, one of six experiments inside the collider complex.
Why should the layperson care about this particular exploration? Years ago, when electrons were first identified, no one knew what they were good for, but they have since transformed our entire economy, said Howard Gordon, deputy research program manager for the collider's ATLAS experiment.
"The transformative effect of this research will be to understand the world we live in much better," said Gordon, at Brookhaven National Laboratory. "It's important for just who we are, what we are."
Black hole fears are "baloney"
Fears have emerged that the collider could produce black holes that could suck up anything around them -- including the whole Earth. Such fears prompted legal actions in the U.S. and Europe to halt the operation of the Large Hadron Collider, alleging safety concerns regarding black holes and other phenomena that could theoretically emerge.
Although physicists acknowledge that the collider could, in theory, create small black holes, they say they do not pose any risk. A study released Friday by CERN scientists explains that any black hole created would be tiny, and would not have enough energy to stick around very long before dissolving. Five collider collaborators who did not pen the report independently told CNN there would be no danger from potential black holes.
John Huth, who works on the collider's ATLAS experiment, called such fears "baloney" in a recent interview, and noted that in normal physics, even if the black hole were stable, it could just pass through the Earth without being detected or without interacting at all.
"The gravitational force is so weak that you'd have to wait many, many, many, many, many lifetimes of the universe before one of these things could [get] big enough to even get close to being a problem," said Huth, professor of physics at Harvard University.
At the scene
When visiting the general-purpose detectors CMS and ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider, Lykken said he was awed that 30,000 tons of electronics would have to work without anyone fiddling with them all the time.
"It just blows you away to look at these things and realize they're not only incredibly complex and huge, but they have to actually work," he said. "They have to work without people banging on them all day because they're sitting underground all by themselves."
With twice as much iron as the Eiffel Tower, CMS will run at full power for the first time in conjunction with the first beam test Wednesday, Lykken said. The magnet serves to bend particles, whizzing by at almost the speed of light, to figure out what kind of particles they are.
Although the detector's parts weigh thousands of tons, in previous trials of CMS at lower power, the magnet actually yanked certain parts around because of its power, Lykken said.
"You're talking about such incredible power inside both the accelerator and detectors that you never really know until you turn it all on what's going to happen," he said.
Scientists around the world are pumped for the first beam. Fermilab, the high energy physics lab in Batavia, Illinois, and major collaborator on the Large Hadron Collider, will be host of a "pajama party" at 1:30 a.m. CT that includes a live connection to CERN to follow the action.
Cousins believes that because the collider pushes the frontiers of science and technology, it would be "amazingly impressive if it works the first try," he said in a phone interview from CERN. Any little disturbance of the magnetic field anywhere in the tunnel could stop the beam from making it all the way around.
Still, after a 25-year wait, he's not complaining. "I personally will be fine if there's some problem that has to be overcome in the next few days," he said.

Why Sheila baptized the name Duraday?

The person named Sheila was my officemate, she was the sales representative of Panasonic product selling from small to big items like video player to refrigerator. She looks gorgeous with the dress she wear and everytime she gets in to the office, some other officemates can’t keep their eyes on her, staring monstrously. It’s just like they want to eat the Sheila. hehehe. Well, guys you know what I mean.

One day, a walk-in customer got in to the store and purchased a Panasonic digicam, Sheila was the sales representative of that item and she was in charge of demoing the item to the customer. Since Sheila was newly hired, she didn’t know well about the product. Meanwhile, I offered a hand to Sheila to demo the digicam to the customer. As I started explaining to the customer about the digicam, Sheila kept on listening and acquired more information from me on what I had discussed while myself was pretending to be busy. Sheila didn’t notice that I started capturing few clips from her. She didn’t realize that I am filming her, she thought only of having taking pictures where she posed candidly. Days had past, I uploaded the video from the digicam, Sheila got astonished when she saw her face on Youtube. She couldn’t believed why she was there and how she got there. She giggled so much and thought of becoming a Youtube Star until she went over the clips that I made and scented that her name was changed from Sheila to Duraday.

Until such time, all of us in the office called her Duraday that made her faint-hearted.

The newly baptized name Duraday is keeping her attitute lovely and maintining her gorgeous posture of becoming a star and socialite where a lot of guys dreaming to marry her someday.
